About the Trainer: Mr Abdul Karim (Amin) Bin Hj Sulaiman

Abdul Karim Bin Hj Sulaiman, has been teaching piano and keyboard to children at LAA for the last two years.  Better known as Mr Amin to all his students, he has been in the music industry close to two decades.  An experienced piano/keyboard and IT music instructor, musician and music director, he has worked on productions such as ‘Singapore Heart Beat and One in Harmony’ in 2004.  He was also a member of a rock band called ‘Speedway’ between 1983 and 2003.  The grandson of Mr Zubir Said, the author of Singapore’s national anthem, Amin has taught in several primary and secondary schools. He is a trainer of Project M Pte Ltd.

About Project M Pte Ltd

Project M Pte Ltd was formed by Ms Ernawaty Sorianto to provide quality education in keyboard and piano to children. Ms Ernawaty has been teaching with Yamaha Music School for the past 27 years in Singapore. Prior to that, she was Chief instructress in a top Music school in Indonesia, training many award-winning competition champions, travelling widely to oversee their school operations and developing curriculum for various projects and training materials. Today, Ms Ernawaty offers to other businesses her expertise in music in the form of consultation or facilitation and continues to be a sought-after music teacher and examiner for Yamaha Music School.

Music and Play

Sat (Term 2 & 4)
Ages 7-9: 10 - 11am (Class 1B) | 11am - 12pm (Class 1A)
Ages 10-12: 12 -1pm (Class 2B) | 1 - 2pm (Class 2A)

Let your child explore their musical talents and experience music in a fun and creative way! In this module students are introduced to two main musical instruments, keyboard and guitar. Apart from learning the basic skills and notation of the two instruments, your child will learn basic note-reading, rhythm & beats, and music appreciation. At the end of the 10-week programme, your child will have the confidence to present a show-and-tell performance!

Keyboard

Keyboard (group)

[ Register ]

Sat | 2 - 3pm (Class 1A) & 3 - 4pm (Class 2)

This course covers keyboard techniques and music theory that will enhance your child’s musicality and creativity. Students will work towards the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 1 examinations.

Guitar

About the trainer: Alex Abisheganaden

Alex Abisheganaden, PPA, PBS, LRSM, was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 1988.  He is Singapore’s first homegrown classical guitarist and double bassist, and dedicated much of his life educating and popularising the performance of music on the guitar. A retired MOE’s Inspector-of-schools, he is  a well known musician for his experience and teaching of classical guitar and double bass both in Singapore and the ASEAN region.  Alex continues to devote much time to teaching and has been imparting his skills and knowledge at LAA for the last three years.

Taught by one of Singapore’s esteemed Cultural Medallion recipients, Mr Alex Abisheganaden, this course will give your child the ability and confidence to play basic chords and simple tunes using both the ukulele and the guitar. Students will work towards the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 1 examinations.
